Zen & Self-Defence - using mindfulness to help protect ourselves by focusing on anxiety and stress reduction. Understand and mitigate your anxiety and stress regarding violent crime with strategies that assist in overcoming these fears.
There is NO physical contact involved in this course.
Introducing a new perspective on self-protection through an interactive self-defence workshop that incorporates learnings from mindfulness, psychology, and martial arts. This approach empowers you to become more confident in your everyday life by recognizing and acting on warning signs, avoiding being in "the wrong place at the wrong time," employing de-escalation techniques, and more. The workshop is non-physical; we will not be jumping up and down, practicing choke holds, or spinning back kicks - this workshop is all about avoidance.
I can teach physical techniques for those interested, but that’s a whole different arena and outside the scope of this mindfulness self-protection workshop.
