meditation and mindfulness for health & wellbeing course

8-Week Course details...

Course Title:            Meditation and Mindfulness for Health & Wellbeing

Course Structure:   8-weekly sessions, each session lasting about 90 minutes


The course assumes no prior meditation knowledge 

(although it works equally well if you have previously had a meditation practice).

Over the 8-Weeks we will investigate what Meditation and Mindfulness is, how to do it, and the benefits.

You will leave after 8-Weeks with your own personal Meditation practice in place


Each session will consist of a talk and question/answer opportunity, followed by a guided meditation. 

Every two weeks a new guided meditation will be introduced which will move the learning forward.

Session 1 – Orientation/Introduction

Session 2 – Stress

Session 3 – Physical Pain

Session 4 – Emotional Stress, Depression

Session 5 – Roles and Time Pressure

Session 6 – Taking Care of Yourself

Session 7 – Elevated Function

Session 8 – Changing Your Life


For example, Session 1 will introduce what Mindfulness and Meditation is and how to obtain good posture for meditating (either standing, sitting in a chair, lying down, or sitting on a cushion), followed by the guided meditation in a posture of your choice: you do not need to sit in Lotus!


To really benefit from the course a little homework is recommended!

1.  You will get to start your own meditation journal

2.  Aim to commit to 25mins a day to practice the Guided Meditation (an audio file will be provided for you to follow) followed by 5 mins writing in your meditation journal about how it was for you. Tips provided on this!

3.  Your thoughts and experiences/challenges can be talked through in the next session and further guidance given.

4.  That’s it!


The course is secular and does not require participants to ‘believe’ or subscribe to anything. 

Equally, if you have a belief system, the Course will also be suitable.


The Course Will Provide:

* A set of notes for each Session for each participant

* Four 'Guided Meditations', in audio file format, will be provided to each participant during the Course 

* Each participant will receive a personalised Certificate on completion of the Course

* Each participant will leave the course with their own personal meditation practice


Please take note:

1. the course is delivered in English with written notes and other content in English

2. the course content is supported by slides and attendees will have content delivered through Power Point slides on a  TV style screen. If there are concerns regarding this please contact me.

3. this course is not suitable for attendees with diagnosed Schizophrenia or Personality Disorder challenges ... please contact me, in confidence, if in doubt.
