I’ve been curious for as long as I can remember...many years of investigating, learning and experiencing - I can say I am now as happy as i've ever been: do I still get angry or upset? yes, of course, we all do, after all, we're only human and trying (mostly) to do the best we can. Do I deal better with the challenges life inevitably throws at us? Yes, absolutely.
I have a regular meditation practice, am relatively fit and healthy and love teaching what I know - I feel really good and see life as being full of vibrancy in each & every moment - though of course, sometimes it can be well hidden!
I have a 'day job' - I have a career in the Food/Beverage and Nutritional Supplements sector where I have worked most of my life in both technical and commercial roles. I have been fortunate to have travelled widely and experienced a number different cultures; I'm lucky to love what I do.
I have been an active martial artist (training, competing, teaching) for many decades (2nd dan black belt) ... I have enjoyed the privilege of teaching classes at the University of Cambridge for many years. I have studied mainly KungFu, but also Karate, TaiChi and ChiKung.
I have a regular (Zen) meditation practice and regularly attend retreats and training courses - continually deepening and increasing my knowledge, to allow me to become a better teacher for you.
Blending the mindfulness & meditation with the martial arts is very constructive allowing a deeper awareness of Mindful Movement (covered in the Health & Wellbeing course).
I am also a Reiki practitioner offering Reiki sessions local to where I am based (Northamptonshire, UK) and remotely, online.
I started momentumSpirit just after COVID lockdown as a way to bring my knowledge and experience of wellbeing to anyone who had an interest. I took some time out to asses where I was in life after some challenging life events. I set up momentumSpirit during this period and, on later returning to the workplace, recognised - what I believe to be - a critical requirement for teachers of wellbeing. We are all living through challenging times and there is a very real need, a yearning, for more balance and less anxiety and stress in our lives
